Had a quick chance to rework a package for ShelterLogic lately. I was pretty pleased with the result. A quick fix was needed to spruce up a package, while staying within the restraints of the approved design (we didn’t do the original design). Normally this would be a nightmare, but in...
Finally.

Well, we finally got to meet our friend and client Ann Voskamp, after many (late-night) hours of work via skype, phone, email, and every imaginable form of non-face-to-face communication. I have been blessed to work with Ann, and am extremely glad to have caught her a thousand miles from home,...
More SL Print
posted by J4
Finishing up a couple print jobs for ShelterLogic this week. The magazine spread we showed earlier is about done, and another sell sheet layout has been added to the mix. Honestly, one of the coolest things about this last job is that ShelterLogic has really come out with an excellent product, here. This isn’t the usual run of the mill pop-up. There’s nothing like doing work for a company whose product you can really appreciate. I know it’s not an amazing industry, but whatever industry you’re in, you may as well lead. And ShelterLogic is doing just that with this....
A little print
posted by J4
While web work is generally our main source of work, sometimes we get some great print opportunities. We just announced a brand new web client; time to highlight an old client. ShelterLogic is one of our oldest clients – I’ve been able to work with them from their very start. I...
Rosewood Communities

Announcing another new client – Rosewood Communities. This is going to be a lot of fun. :) Back at my Leslie Advertising days (now the bounce agency), I had a lot of exposure to real estate accounts. We worked on Palmetto Bluff, The Cliffs, Tennessee National, Daniel Island …...

Well, it’s finally here. Solid Construction has a new website. We had the great priviledge of providing design, photography and development for Jonah and Solid Construction. Jonah’s been a long-standing client of ours, but recently really took the plunge into a brand-new website....

We’re Brewing

This week’s super cool privilege: coffee roasted in Bangladesh. And it’s fresh thanks to the roaster personally handing it to me. What a cool story and the spro is brewing up very nicely indeed. Dialed in at a tight 17g double....
Food shoot
posted by J4
J4 had another great opportunity doing some food photography for Pinnacle Catering (for whom we are also plugging away right now on a website). These shoots are always a challenge but rewarding. They are done rapid fire. We have a short time period to get the shot and move on. The stakes are...
Work. Lots of it.

The absence here over the past weeks is a result of a huge wave of awesome work opportunity, as well as a few items I can’t talk about – yet. :) We’ve got many sites in progress, and 2 will be done within 2 weeks. I’m pretty excited about both, and can’t wait to...
Metto & Zoka

I had the priviledge of stopping by the excellent Metto Coffee & Tea this past weekend and was treated to the usual amazingness I’ve come to expect from them. Tripp served me up two spot-on espressos, crafted with care, each with its own unique character. I love this place, and...
On losing work
posted by J4
This is a topic that has been of great interest to me over the years, running my previous business, as well as J4 Studios. No one likes to lose work. It’s a down economy. Few businesses have work to lose. But over the years I’ve come to see the importance of losing business. At...
Logos galore
posted by J4
This was one of those classic branding moments. I recently began a logo/rebrand project with Pinnacle to expant their brand to the other branches of their business. A year or so ago, we rebranded the Devlopment branch and the logo has been used successfully ever since. The other areas of...

We’re pleased to say that an all new Solid Construction site is in the works and should be live within a month or so. We just finished up some new photography, and the site is going to programming very soon. Here’s just a peek of how it will look when it’s...

When I started in the advertizing/marketing/design business 11 years ago, we printed every revision of a  job on the laser printer, burned the Quark files to a disk, get an actual signature from a creative director, put it all into a FedEx envelope and overnighted it to the client. No,...

Springtime

I love gardening. Growing. Planting. It’s something I love to get outside, active, work hard and watch things grow. So it’s ironic that my yard has always been abysmal. This year, I’d like to change that, and since it’s supposed to rain for the next three days, I...
